We believed in the music so much that we did something no other new music site has done - we created our very own radio station. no PRS, no PPL: no problem!
The artists who join amazingtunes.com are at the start of their musical journey. Most have not joined royalty collection agencies. These agencies are great for people who are played on national stations such as BBC Radio 1, 6Music and the larger commercial stations. But for a new artist, it's often not necessary.
Most of amazing's music is PRS/PPL-exempt. So it's perfectly legal to play it in public, without a costly licence.
The music, however, is of the very highest quality. After all we wouldn't have a national radio station without their tunes, and we're honoured to be able to play the very best in new music to the nation. But because our overheads are low, and we don't have teams of 'Music Police' going around threatening people, we still give more money to artists than they would usually get if they were with a Collection Agency. It's a win/win - cheaper for you, better for the artists.
We were the first to even attempt this on such a large scale, and as with anything new, it sometimes takes a while for people to believe this deal is as good as it sounds. That's why we offer every business the opportunity to listen to our amazing streams for a month completely free.
We're certain that during your trial you'll find new music that you will love. To repeat - although we supply royalty free music, this in no way means that our artists don't receive the benefit that their talent rightly deserves. The type of music used in public areas has a dramatic effect on people's behaviour. In recent experiments, when higher tempo music was played not only did people move a lot quicker they actually increased their stride length.
However, when people were exposed to classical music that had a more sedate pace to it, then people's pace also slowed down. The same was true when they were exposed to new music. People slowed down, took a moment to listen more intently to the music and as such their dwell time in stores rose significantly.
